The Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody models are the Campbell’s Chicken Noodle of souped-up American muscle—they appeal to just about anybody. Now, coming later this year, Dodge is adding a dash of horsepower and unlocking more option combinations with exclusive new parts with a Jailbreak option package.
A powertrain recalibration of the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 gives Jailbreak models a 10-hp gain, for a totally ridiculous output of 807 horsepower. That’s more than 115 horsepower for every word in its ever-growing model name. Not only does output now match the Challenger Super Stock, it’s just a single pony away from the limited-edition 808-hp Demon that’s no longer offered.
Although the Jailbreak option package is less about climbing barbed-wire fences and more about unlocking options previously unavailable for SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody models, it gets its own block of equipment, too. Charger and Challenger Jailbreak models add Hammerhead Grey leather seats, floor-mat accents, sepia and Demonic Red seatbelts, leather steering wheel options, a Copper Weaver carbon-fiber bezel, satin chrome and red exterior badging finishes, a chrome fuel door, a choice of blue or yellow brake calipers, and 20-inch Warp Speed Satin Carbon and lightweight Low Gloss Granite wheels. Chargers also get a black nickel exhaust tip finish, and hood and roof striping.
Believe it or not, all of that is only the beginning. This new option package opens previously forbidden equipment options including seven different seats, stripes, and wheels; six brake caliper colors; five exterior badging finishes; and four choices of steering wheels, seatbelt colors, and floor mats.
Dodge created a few of their own order combinations just in case the options list starts to taste like alphabet soup. Old School, Brass Funky, Red Dawn, The Classic, Yin Yang, and more should fill whatever prescription your next 807-hp health condition aches for.
The Old School Challenger Jailbreak uses F8 Green paint with 20-inch Warp Speed Satin Carbon wheels, Gunmetal Grey brake calipers, and Hammerhead Grey floor mat accents and seatbelts inside. The Brass Funky Charger Jailbreak is shown with Hellraisin paint, sepia Laguna leather seats with matching floor mats, suede headliner, and an alcantara steering wheel.
The 2022 Dodge Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody Jailbreak option package will be available for customers later in 2021, starting at $995. That’s on top of the $84,645 for the 2021 Charger and $82,675 for the 2021 Challenger in SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody form.
