The Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is a topless exotic bull which comes sans 140 lbs otherwise found on the normal LP 570-4 Spyder, thanks largely to a healthy dose of carbon fiber inside and out. Altogether, carbon-fiber components make up around 40 percent of the weight savings. In the interior, the center tunnel cover, the door panels and the surround of the e-gear automated manual transmission lever are all made from carbon fiber.
In the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, LP stands for “Longitudinale Posteriore” and refers to the orientation of the V10 engine – which is mounted longitudinally behind the driver, just like every Lamborghini engine. The number 570 refers to the maximum power output in horsepower, available at 8,000 rpm. The torque curve peaks at 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. The increase of 10 horsepower over the standard model is the result of the new dedicated engine management strategy.
With that power, this drop-top scoots from zero-to-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds while en route to a top speed of 201 mph. All that power is transferred to the ground at all four corners via new 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires that are extremely lightweight.
